Holi 2026, the Festival of Colors, is celebrated on March 3. Beginning with Holika Dahan on the evening before, the main day sees people of all ages playing with vibrant colored powders (gulal) and water. Streets come alive with music, dance, and the joyous spirit of spring. It is celebrated across India with regional variations – Lathmar Holi in Barsana, Phoolon ki Holi in Vrindavan, and Rangpanchami in Maharashtra.

Significance

Holi celebrates the legend of Prahlad and Holika – the triumph of devotion and faith over evil. It also marks the arrival of spring, the renewal of relationships, and the spirit of forgiveness. Social barriers dissolve as everyone celebrates together.
